
Espionage Awareness Course
Our Espionage Awareness Course is designed to strengthen your company’s resilience against insider threats and espionage. Employees gain a solid understanding of the threat landscape, espionage techniques, and learn how to protect themselves and the company on social media, during travel, and in their daily work. They also develop secure behavior habits. The course equips them to identify, prevent, and report espionage threats in practice.
The course meets the awareness training requirements outlined in both the NIS2 directive and the CER directive, actively contributing to a higher level of security within the company.
Who is the Course for?
The course is designed for those who want to strengthen their company’s security against insider threats and espionage.
It is aimed at employes working in companies covered by the NIS2 and CER directives, or who handle confidential information, work within critical infrastructure, have security responsibilities, travel abroad, or are involved in product development, manufacturing, or sales strategy. It is also relevant for companies identified as potential targets for espionage.
No special prerequisites are required to participate in the course.

Understanding the Espionage Threat: Gain insights into the espionage threat facing your company and understand how foreign states conduct state-sponsored industrial espionage against businesses.
Espionage Targets: Learn about the types of companies and sectors that are particulary valnerable to espionage.
Espionage Threats from Russia and China: Understand the specific espionage threats from Russia and China and how these threats may impact your business.
Espionage Methods:
Insiders: Gain a fundamental understanding of insider threats, how they impact your company, and how to prevent insider incidents.
Cyber Espionage: Learn how insiders can be exploited to conduct cyber espionage and cyber attacks within a company.
Recruitment and Motivation Factors: Understand how insiders are recruited and what motivation factors drive individuals to engage in espionage.
Elicitation: Get acquainted with elicitation, an intelligence technique used to extract information from a person without their awareness. Learn how to identify potential elicitation attempts directed at you.
Security Awareness:
Consider Your Digital Behavior: Learn how to protect yourself online and minimize the risk of digital espionage.
Protect Yourself from Espionage on Your Social Media Accounts: Gain knowledge on how to secure your social media accounts against espionage and understand what information you should avoid sharing on social media.
Protect Yourself While Traveling: Learn how to safeguard yourself and your data when traveling and staying outside the company.
Guard Against Espionage: Receive practical tools and methods to prevent espionage in everyday situations and enhance overall employee security awareness and understanding of espionage.
Understand Counter-Espionage: Learn how counter-espionage measures can protect your company from insiders and industrial espionage.

Instructor
Torben Kabel is a former military intelligence soldier from the Danish Defence with 12 years of experience in human intelligence and counterintelligence. His service includes deployment as a human intelligence source handler in Afghanistan and three deployments to Iraq, first as Deputy Commander of Counterintelligence and later twice as Chief of Counterintelligence. Torben is a certified Special Agent from NATO's Allied Command Counterintelligence.
